implant procedure may be performed with a tooth crown in place
directly after implant placement or within a few days, meaning

NobelDirect™
is the ultimate form of simplicity and tissue friendliness,
taking implants even closer to traditional crown and bridge
therapy. The implant is machined from a single piece of titanium,
incorporating both implant body and an integral fixed abutment.
The procedure
is easy and very efficient: in one appointment is not only
surgery performed but a provisional crown is also in place.
Patient discomfort is much reduced due to the less invasive
procedure.
Historically
implants have been associated with a time consuming surgical
procedure. This is no longer the case with NobelDirect™. Using
the one-piece design, most often the surgery can be made flapless,
with minimal surgical invasion. In most situations the implant

The NobelDirect implant was specially designed to prevent
marginal bone loss at the alveolar crest. As with other Nobel
Biocare implant designs, the TiUnite surface promotes osseointegration
to the alveolar bone. Moreover, on the NobelDirect implants,
the TiUnite surface goes beyond the threads and onto the implant
collar for Soft Tissue Integration.
A recent study* found
that the junctional epithelium is effectively attached via
hemidesmosomes to the uniquely porous TiUnite surface much
like it is to natural teeth.
